In 1954, the solar shading department was founded as a separate area of the window manufacturer Josef Wick & Sons GmbH & CoKG, Wick GmbH which was founded in 1901. At two production sites in Linz and Vorchdorf interior and exterior blinds, mini roller shutters, awnings, exterior Venetian blinds as well as full metal exterior blinds were produced.

In 1992, the specialized trade mark KOSMOS solar shading was installed. As a result, WICK – KOSMOS has established itself as one of the most important Austrian producers of solar shading systems offering the widest range of products on the market.
