The greenhouse effect

This nowadays often used term describes even in solar technology an important property of solar radiation. Short-wave solar energy can penetrate the window glass surfaces without resistance and collects on floor and walls inside the room / in the room interior.

That solar energy heats up building materials and is thrown back in the form of long-wave radiation which means a high percentage of IR. As a result radiation can no longer penetrate the glass surfaces. Thus a room interior overheating is pre-programmed!

The greenhouse effect is increased with inside solar shading applications. Though, when it comes to exterior systems this effect is reduced by holding the radiation to a minimum outside the window.
