FIXSCREEN® wind-resistant up to 80 km/h

The technological highlight when it comes to comfort and usability. Its compact construction makes it suitable for interior and exterior use in both residential and commercial buildings as well as for later installation in old and new buildings.

FIX SCREEN ® is the first vertical awning worldwide which is actually wind resistant up to 80 km/h. A symmetrical zip is welded onto the fabric, which runs in the side channels via a guide system.

This ensures that the screen is wind resistant in any position and keeps out insects when closed. Thanks to the intelligent zip-system, the side guides on FIXSCREEN® ensure that the screen operates smoothly - in addition it means that the screen is held securely and does not distort when exposed to heavy wind loads.

At wind speeds of 80 km/h it is recommended to lift the FIXSCREEN. This information applies in closed position and when installation was executed according to instructions.

Lateral guidance with guide rails

The side channels (34mm Wx48mm D) are made of extruded aluminium. The external side channel consists of two parts. They are screwed directly on the frame. The screws are not visible from the front. The internal guide is made of HPVC and is fitted with neoprene buffer zones (60 mm long) to compensate for wind gusts.
The zip is slid into these plastic guides to retain the screen. There is sufficient clearance between the screen and the aluminum and plastic guides to guarantee smooth operation.

Types

According to height of element and integration of insect screens 3 box types are available:

FIXSCREEN® 85 / FIXSCREEN® 100 / FIXSCREEN® 150

Reduced wrinkle build-up

The zip principle guarantees a firm, wrinkle-free screen.

Control of light

FIXSCREEN® stops the sun’s rays before they come into contact with the surface of the glass. Glare and unpleasant reflections are then eliminated. The degree of transparency is dependent on the type of screen chosen. However, the beauty of external screens is that you do not lose visual contact with the outside world.

Control of heat and energy use

External sun protection helps to prevent overheating by stopping the heat entering through the glass. This makes for a much more natural and comfortable internal environment and allows substantial savings on cooling and air conditioning costs. In the winter months external screens can still play their part in reducing energy consumption. Raising the screen allows the free solar heat to enter while closing the screens at night limits the amount of heat loss through the glazing.

Insect protection

Intensive ventilation is possible with FIXSCREEN® and yet with the screen fully lowered it is insect proof as the bottom rail is fitted with a plastic sealing profile to ensure a perfect closure on the sill.

Quiet and easy operation

As the fabric is permanently held in the side channels, the bottom rail is securely held too, ensuring it does not rattle. Available with manual or electrical operation.

Easy maintenance and simple installation

FIXSCREEN® only requires a minimal amount of maintenance. Flexible installation options allow for FIXSCREEN® to be fitted:

• Outside installation

• Inside installation: built-in type with box (with or without front cover)

• Inside installation: built-in type without box, with brackets
